Uk’s finest moves to Broadway.
This fantasy musical is playing at the Piccadilly Theatre in London and has had mixed reviews, but a brave decision has been made to open in Broadway, US in March next year.
Ghost, which was an Academy Award winning film starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore became a blockbuster. The movie generated over $500 million in global ticket sales.
Cleverly adapted from film to stage
The music from the film was adapted for the stage by former Eurythmics musician Dave Stewart, and was directed by Tony Award winning director Matthew Warchus .
Heart warming story
This moving story is about the power of love. Whilst walking to their apartment Sam and Molly are mugged and Sam is left to die on the street. Whilst Molly tries to come to terms with the loss of her lover, Sam is trapped between this life and the next knowing that Molly is in grave danger.
The ghost of Sam enlists the help of a phony psychic who helps him communicate with Molly and help her to safety. An emotional roller-coaster where love really does conquer all!
Ghost The Musical opened in the West End in July preceded by the world premier at the Manchester Opera House from March 2011 which ran until 14th May 2011. following previews it was transferred to the West End at the Piccadily Theatre on the 19th June
This timeless musical has been seen in the West End by over 275,000 people. The daily express has given it 4 stars, The Times said, “Ghost has wit and heart and can really, properly dazzle. A dazzling display of undying love. Resistance is futile”, and The Sun said “Simply out of this world”. Praise indeed.
