La Bete - A must see comedy of 2010

This Olivier-winning comedy, La Bete is showing at the Comedy Theatre in London, throughout July and August 2010.

You can get your La Bete Tickets from BritEvents.com

La Bete meaning “Beast and a Fool” in french, was first shown on Broadway in 1991, and unfortunately was a flop, running for just 25 nights, although did do slightly better on the West End.

Brave though, for the director Matthew Warchus to turn his attention to this 17th-century spoof, but this time with some appealing comedy actors. Joanna Lumley, David Hyde-Pearce (the fantastic actor Niles from Frasier) and Mark Rylance all join forces to show this comedy can work, with a winning performance from Rylance.

Watch and enjoy as a common street performer is hired by a princess to join her royal troupe, then later clashes with the trained troupe leader in a hilarious stand off and momentous showdown! Bravo!
