The gig on the 8th October has been announced by the producers Global Live Events and has the backing of Michael Jackson’s mother Katherine and Sister La Toya.

Chris Hunt CEO of Global Live Events said that “This is an exciting moment for Michael Jackson fans from around the world. The event will not be repeated.

This long-awaited, one night only tribute to the Pop king will be an absolute sell-out, and promises have been made by Global Live of  the worlds biggest names headlining this concert which will be revealed on the 3rd August 2011.

The concert which will be no less than four hours long, will be a starstruck spectacular occasion and no doubt a fitting tribute to a troubled but genius pop music star.

Michael Jackson dominated the Pop world for nearly four decades, and the concert on the 8th October will be 40 years almost to the day of the release of  Jackson’s hit single ‘Got To Be There’ which kicked started his solo career.

‘Got To Be There’ say’s it all really, how many fans around the world today are saying I’ve ‘Got To Be There’?
